I’ve been using computers since I was about five years old. As a teenager, I stared to feel like it was time for me to expand my knowledge and find a way to enter the computer technology field.

I started attending classes at Sacramento City College in the Fall 2017 semester. I have been taking classes to work toward graduating with an AS in Computer Information Science Security. I am also working towards getting my CompTIA Certificate as well as the CCNA and Microsoft Azura certificates.
I’ve been working at Computers 4 Kids since the spring of 2018. I was told about Computers 4 Kids by the program director, Lewis Bair. He was my CISC 310 professor at Sacramento City College. He knew I was interested in learning more about computers and he told me to peruse a position working as a technician at Computers 4 Kids. Just a few weeks later I started working as a technician and loved every minute of it. A few months after being hired, I was promoted to a Senior Technician position. As a Senior Technician, I strive to do my best and guide the newer technicians on their technical journey.

I’ve had the opportunity to gain hands on experience by building computers, troubleshooting issues, and interacting with customers. Since early on in my life, computers have been a passion of mine. I feel like working at Computers 4 Kids has given me a great opportunity to learn how to work in a business environment as well as how to collaborate with other technicians. Having Computers 4 Kids take me in and help me to expand my computer knowledge has had a great impact on my life.

While working at Computers 4 Kids, I have learned how to:
  • Install Windows, and Linux Operating Systems
  • Work on various Windows and Linux based software
  • Build computers from scratch
  • Backup and re-image computers
  • Teach children how to use computers
  • Manage a small team of great technicians

I look forward to working with Computers 4 Kids for as long as possible. I enjoy helping the company move forward to achieve its goals. Working with the staff here has been great. We all strive to do our best and thoroughly giving back to the community. I’m thankful that Computers 4 Kids took me in and gave me the opportunity to work in a field that I am passionate about.
